BRIGADIER GENERAL RON SCONYERS (USAF Ret.)

Brigadier General Ron Sconyers (USAF, Ret.) is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Physicians for Peace, a global nonprofit medical education and training organization serving developing nations with unmet medical needs and scarce resources.  Since assuming his position at Physicians for Peace in February 2004, General Sconyers has overseen significant growth of the organization. Today, he leads an organization with a U.S. based staff of 20 and overseas offices in the Dominican Republic and the Philippines. Physicians for Peace has active projects in nearly 20 developing countries.

General Sconyers was a career military officer in the U.S. Air Force. He has an undergraduate degree in International Affairs from the USAF Academy and a Master’s Degree in Communications from St. Louis University. He was also a Fellow in Foreign Politics, International Relations and the National Interest at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
